The title track, Don't Forget Me, brings an intense and raw introduction to Maggie Rogers' upcoming third studio album, set to release on April 12. Known for her emotionally powered lyrics and heartstring-pulling music, Rogers leaves audiences enthralled with her candid look into relationships and self-discovery.

The song opens with the lines "My friend Sally's getting married / And to me, that sounds so scary / I'm still tryin' to clean up my side of the street," immediately immersing listeners into the anecdotes of her life. Rogers expresses a sense of anxiety towards the thought of settling down and changing the ways of her life to obtain a lifestyle similar to those around her ("clean up my side of the street"). Sharing her hesitation towards the idea of settling down, the lyrics convey the dread that comes with altering ones life to conform to societal expectations.

Remarkably, the entire album was written in just five days, with Rogers initially considering a full band collaboration but ultimately choosing to preserve the authenticity of the original writing style. This decision results in a raw and unfiltered emotional output, providing listeners with an intimate and personal album made to share with her fans.

The thematic core of Don't Forget Me grapples with self-awareness and acknowledging the need for self-improvement. Rather than taking that need and changing for others, Rogers reflects and makes the changes for herself. Fans can anticipate a compilation of tracks that navigate complex peaks and valleys of human life.
