We can all imagine heartbreak from our lives and the feeling of relief when those who have hurt us have finally left. Good Riddance is intimate, heartbreaking, and all you could ever ask for in the soundtrack for losing love.

After Gracie Abrams released her debut album, she took your hand and led you through the rabbit hole of hurtful relationships and mental struggles. Searching and begging for answers, Abrams has created a gloomy world of hard-hitting lyrics. Each track creates the feeling of walking through a muggy morning, where you can feel the fog sticking to your skin, and you cannot tell if someone is in front of you.

Somber words and sounds mesmerize her listeners and help guide them through the rollercoaster of life. The album dissects her struggles with mental health, friends, family, and romantic relationships. While most of the songs on the album follow a slower pace, Abrams throws in a few more upbeat-sounding tunes. The first two of the album's singles, Difficult and Where Do We Go Now, have a more pop feel, yet the lyrics do not stray from the continuous theme.

Abrams communicates the story of heartbreak and healing and shares it brazenly. The album concludes with the final lyric, "I feel like myself right now", and leaves listeners feeling more at peace with what they are facing. Growth is present, welcomed, and encouraged in Gracie's universe.
